Having a problem, I have restored windows to a previous date, however
this has been done a few times and every time it has used up some more
space on the hard drive, is there anyway of deleting unwanted backup
files.
1. Run the Disk Cleanup utility in Accessories - System Tools. In
the "More Options" tab you have the option to remove all but the most
recent System Restore point.
2. Control Panel - System - System Restore. Click on the Settings
button and adjust the amount of disk space allowed for System Restore
to something between 700 mb and 1 gb. That should allow you at least
a week to 10 days worth of restore points unless you are really making
a lot of changes to your system.
3. Control Panel - Internet Options and adjust the amount of space
used for Temporary Internet Files. If you are on a high speed
connection (cable or DSL) then you normally need very little disk
space for this, probably around 50 mb or perhaps a bit more. If you
have a dial-up Internet connection then there is more value in having
the t.i.f. present and you might want to leave it at a fairly high
value.
Good luck
