Hi,
I really need to restore all the original default settings for Word 2007,
so that it is set up the way it was when I first installed it. Please,
Please, help! I would greatly appreciate it.

For the most part, you can do this by performing the following two steps:

1. Delete or rename Normal.dotm (delete or rename any leftover Normal.dot
files from earlier versions of Word, too, if you have any); and,

2. Delete or rename the Word entry in the registry. It's located here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word

I say "for the most part" because there are additional but less noticeable
things that are stored in other files.

You can do this more thoroughly by creating a new user profile on your
computer. A new "environment" for Word will be created, and it will appear
as first installed.

With Word not running, rename the Normal.Dotm template to OldNormal.Dotm and
then restart Word.

The templates are usualling located in the c:\Documents and Setting\[User
Name]\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates folder.
