Restore schema

How can a schema change be rolled back or a corrupted
schema fixed? The MS documentation says an authoritative
restore of the schema is not possible. So, just restore
the schema master? Thanks in advance.

No. After you restore from backup you would have to make
the schema authoritative.
Take a dc offline. If the schema update fails then you
can take all the dc's offline and flatten them and bring
the one offline DC back online. Then rebuild all other
DC's.
