Hi,

I want to perform a restore operation to see if it will solve a problem
I've got, but have never done this before. I've read all the help
information on restore, but still have some questions.

Let's say that today's restore point is A, and I want to restore back to
a restore point of last Friday, say B. Will my system first create a
another restore point C, which represents today (A), then restore to back
to C, and also create a new restore point immediately after the restore,
called D, which should be just like B?

Is restoring similar to applying a previously saved registry?

I hope I've made my question clear.

I also understand that I can undo a restore operation, which will take me
back to my original point A, and that I can create my own restore points.

Thanks,
Bruce

Not quite . You select the day you want to go back to on the calendar.
The machine then shuts down, and spends quite a time on the way
restoring files. After you boot back up, you are given the option to
accept or reject the restoration, and you will then find if you go to SR
that you have the option to 'Undo last restore operation'. But that
does not form a new point in its own right.
