depends upon the size of your hard drive. By default windows allocated 12%
of the drive for system restore points, so you are looking at around 9GB on
an 80GB hard drive, more if the drive is larger.
You can reduce this, though, by going to Control panel>system icon>system
restore tab. On the system restore tab click the Settings button and then,
using the disk space usage slider, reduce the percentage of space allocated
to maybe 8 or 9 percent.
Another way of reducing space is, if your computer is running okay, delete
all the current restore points by putting a tick in the 'turn off system
restore on all drives' option and then clicking Apply. To restart system
restore again remove the tick and again press Apply. Remember to create a
new system restore point to start you off though, after you have removed all
the old restore points.
