I had to do a reinstall of Windows and all my programs were placed in a
folder called "old data" and now I can not access my addresses and old emails
in Outlook. It looks like the data is saved in the "old data" folder but I
am not sure how to get it back into Outlook.

It should be stored in a file with a PST extension. ensure it is not set as
read-only, Open it with Outlook and copy data over.

I find no PST files in the folder that Outlook Express was saved in. I was
using Outlook before but all I can find is Outlook Express now. Are these
two different things and could I be looking in the wrong spot?

Outlook Express and Outlook are totally different applications. If you used
Outlook and your data is accessible and still on the machine then it is in a
PST file. the only issue is that file might be hidden.

I do believe I was using Outlook before but now can't find any trace of it.
I did not load it seperate on the machine so it must have come with it but
with the restore I did it does not appear to have been put back in. I guess
I will have to start the process of rebuilding my address book.
