"Restore" function fails

I seem to have some corruption going on in my computer for the past two
days. I'm trying to restore my system back to 4 days ago. I had no restore
points chosen, but the program says the day I chose is available for
restoration. However, when I start the restoration it goes very quickly and
the window pops up saying that the restoration failed but gives no reason
why. I did close all open programs, but there are programs running in the
background like Norton's Antivirus.

I'd appreciate some help. Thanks.

You have to click on one of the Point (in the right panel) in order for a
restoration to be done.
It does not know, if you have multiple restoration point for a day, which
one to chose if you do not select one.
