I apologize for multiposting on this topic, but I've run out of ideas. My
problem is with the failure of System Restore to create system
checkpoints.
I have read every article in the MS knowledge base regarding System Restore,
I have searched
newsgroups (where the same problem seems to be a recurrent theme) and I have
searched almost every website on XP problems that I can find, but I still
can't fix the problem, Here's the history:
The OS is a clean installation on 10 G partition on a newly formatted
drive. There is currently 8G free space. Task scheduler is running.
Hibernation is off. The system has idled for up to 2 days. There is no AV
software running. I have scheduled restore points in Task Scheduler to be
created daily. And yes, System Restore is enabled. The only way restore
points are created is either manually, or by a new application being
installed. Could there be some platform dependent bug?
