Restore and re-restore

Let's say I restore to an earlier date and I'm not happy with the
results. Can I then restore back to the original set up?
 
Yes.
But you should still be sure when you use System Restore.
Think of System Restore as a one way trip and only go back in another
emergency.

Thanks. BTW, when I use system restore, and go back to a previous date,
does this just change general settings and leave files alone? For
example, if I go back a week, will my email messages in my inbox still
be up to date?

System Restore only does system settings. You should backup your other
data in other ways. eg burn to CD-R, backup using NTBackup to a file
and then burn that to CD-R. Or if you are adventurous, use CD-RW.
