Restore a Outlook backup

How do I restore someone elses copy of a outlook backup into my outlook
without destroying my outlook contacts, calendar, etc.? I need temporary
their contacts.
 
Assuming their backup is in the format *.pst, open this file within
Outlook - File>Open>Data File (The file should be located on your hd, eg in
documents folder)

Thanks but I need a little more info. Are you saying that opening the other
..pst file will in no way effect my already established email, contacts,
calendar, etc. ? I only want to view the contacts section of the other .pst
file.
