Restore a mailbox in exchange 5.5

Hi,

I have a problem, I have accidently deleted a user mailbox
in echange 5.5 is there anyway that i retrieve this
mailbox so that it can be viewed, to complicate things
further I have also deleted the users NT logg on account!!!
Help would be appreciated on this one

Unfortunately, the only way to do a 5.5 restore of this type is to do it offline. You will have to get a DC syncronized with the domain. Pull it off line, install a fresh build of Exchange on eithe the DC thats offline or another server. Create the org EXACTLY like it is in production and then do the restore. After the restore is complete, you can hook up to your off line network with a laptop and pull the info from the mailbox into a PST file. YOu can then reimport the PST back to the production mailbox. This in itself is the best reason to migrate to E2K/2003.
 
Would the NT back up tapes work in restoring a single
mailbox??

No. NTBackup does not perform a brick level or mailbox level backup. Only
the Information Store level.
