stupid question, but with the command shell and no acpi
options, how do you shut down properly?
TIA Hank

Hank,

Check out XPePM in the documentation. Add the "Power Management Application"
component. It adds xpepm.exe to the system root, and you can call
xpepm -shutdown, -restart, etc.

The situation is that there is no GUI, just a CFdisk
(Sandisk), LAN connection, some hardware and a powerbutton.
What I actually want to know(/get confirmed) is: How bad
is it to just take the power of? Do I have to find a
remote shutdown solution (which is obviously better, but a
lot of extra work), or is the damage risk acceptable low.
Any input is welcome :)

You should read more about EWF.

If EWF is protecting your CF then you can just take the power off, without
any risk.

Hank,

If you using EWF then unorderly shutdowns are no problem. If your not,
simply pulling the plug on a device may cause headaches down the road.
Search the documentation for EWF, or Enhanced Write Filter.
