Restart problem

Running XP and SP2. For the last couple of days, if I go to
Start\Turn off Computer\Restart, my computer shuts down, instead of
Restarting. Anyone any ideas why ?.

Thanks Rich, for having a try for me. I`ve been on the MS KB for nearly 2
hours now. Everything seems to be about XP locking up on shutdown, or
restarting when you shutdown. Nothing seems to point to the Restart button
doing what it`s supposed to do ie; Restart the blooming machine. I`ve got a
funny feeling it a registry problem, but I`m not sure.
