How do I set a rest reminder?

I have my system set to send me a rest reminder when I have been working without stop for 30 minutes, but I do not remember how I did, can't figure it out, and can find no so-called "expert" who knows how.

It's a 3" X 1.5" window with "rest reminder" in the bar, "You have been working for 30 minutes." in the body, with an "ok" button.

Does anyone know? Thanks.

Are you running Outlook? If so may have set a reminder through that.

Are you running any type of scheduling or calendar program?

No - I use Microsoft Office and InfoEd, a research administration database package. I use my Palm software as a calendar, but the rest reminder is not from that.

I am certain it is either in the setup or preferences of Windows or Office, and as I get the reminder when I am in InfoEd and don't even have Office open, I think it must be in Windows. But darned if I can remember how I did it, and it is tormenting our techs here. I want to figure out how I did it because others in the office would like to use the feature. Very frustrating. Thanks for your input.

Lorraine,

I've heard of software that does this. I think that it's part of the mouse
software though? If I'm right (and I could be way off base...!) the
software monitors how long you've been using the mouse (and/or possibly
keyboard) and then prompts you to take a break. Perhaps look in the control
panel under Mouse and see if there's a setting there somewhere?

HTH,
Katherine

That's it ! That's it ! Oh, Katherine, thank you ! I work at a large university, and NO ONE in the computer support department could figure it out, and of course I set the option myself and couldn't remember how it did it. I have a Kensington trackball, and the rest reminder is right there !

I hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday season !
