I get this message on startup all of a sudden

"cannot find RESOURCE DLL." it is not resource.dll!

I looked at the Registry and cannot find anything there. Nothing in the
Startup under MSCONFIG either.

Nothing that I looked for under Google.

Any ideas?

Yeah, multi post, don't cross post.

You're using Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2900.2527.

[[To send your message to multiple newsgroups on the same news server, in
the New Message dialog box, click the icon next to Newsgroups. In the Pick
Newsgroups dialog box, click one or more newsgroups from the list (hold down
the CTRL key to select multiple newsgroups), and then click Add. You can
choose from all newsgroups or only those you subscribe to by clicking Show
only subscribed newsgroups.

You can send a given message to more than one newsgroup at a time only if
all the newsgroups are on the same news server.]]

Sorry, but no, you're not. Appearances to the contrary, Outlook
doesn't do newsgroups. It may call itrself "Microsoft Outlook
Newsreader," but it's nothing but Outlook Express running in
news-only mode.

Thanks for the feedback. I understand now.
Have to see whether the "resource dll. " still comes up.At starting the
computer. It never came up for years. I have no idea why it comes up all of
a sudden.

I was only showing you that starting Outlook Express with a switch makes OE pretend to be Outlook.

Take each command from MSConfig and paste that into Start Run.

I tried everything. Looked at hundreds of comments or web sites under
Google. None gave an answer that worked.

I finally used RESTORE finally under windows xp and that solved it.

No more pop-up window. All solved at least.

Thanks though.
