So on my home PC when ever I right click on a picture or a group of pictures
and say send via email I get a little pop up which askes me if I wanted to
send resize these images so that they will transfer faster via email.

When I say yes it resiszes them to a much smaller size but still looks fine
for the web.

on my work PC it doesn't do that and just sends them full size. I asked the
IT guys how to turn this feature on and they looked at me like I was crazy
since they never heard of this.

Any ideas on how to determine what program may have turned this on??
I looked under options for plugins but found nothing.

Thanks
John

John,
Your home pc uses what os? and what version or Outlook?
Your work pc uses what os? and what version of Outlook?

On your home pc, when you right click your pictures to send via email most likely your version of Outlook is opening your picture editor or picture manager software so the pics can be sent as you stated "transfer faster via email"

Your work pc, software does not have this for various reasons, not installed for your version of Office.

Windows XP and Office XP at Home
Windows 2000 and Office XP at work

How can I tell what picture manager s/w I'm using
When I double click on an image it looks like a program called
"Windows Picture and Fax Viewer overview" opens up.

Its been so long with this PC I don't remember what I might have installed
that could have added this feature.

I love it though and everyone asks me how I do it. :-)

Thanks
John

I have two laptops that are identical, and they have the same software running on them, and the same os(windows xp) and they both use office 2003. One laptop will resize pictures and the other wont, tho it did before I installed office 2003. Basically, the machines are identical in every way, both are the same make and model with the same everything as the other hardware wise and basically the same software wise. How do I turn this back on? I tried emailing ms support but who knows it will probably take weeks to get a reply and the pictures I need to send are very important and I need to send them together as one email and not 5 like I would have to
Thanks

i too have been trying to get the "resize picture" feature back on ... it used to work and i have no idea why it no longer does. i have looked all over my laptop for a way to reactivate it but to no avail.

I have the same issue too, at home on XP pro + Office 2002 then upgraded to office 2003, after which i lost this V usefull item. Has anyone found out how to turn it back on?

Did you install the Windows XP Power Toy - Image Resizer?
