Hello.
when I open my database, the switchboard for some reason keeps opening in
much bigger than a quarter of how I want it. It's still in it's own window
but across the screen rather than a little window.
I keep going into design and resizing it but every time I open the database
it opens huge again.
How do I keep it smaller.
The database window and all other objects are the correct size.
Thank you

Hi JB,

You didn't say which version of Access you are using, but assuming it is
Access 2000, 2002 or 2003, what happens if you click on:

Window | Size to Fit Form

when you have the form open in normal view (not design view)?

Second question: When in design view, open the Properties dialog, if it is
not already open (press the F4 button). You should see the word "Form" in the
title bar of the Properties dialog. Select the Format tab of the Properties
dialog. There is a Width property a bit more than half way down the list.
What is the width that is entered?

Hi Tom
Yeay!! thank you.
I didn't realize that you had to type in the width size. I thought dragging
the sides to where you want was enough.
I also was able to adjust the height too.
Thanks

Hi JB,

I'm glad to hear that you got this solved. You can use the drag technique to
resize a form, but you need to drag the correct part of the form. This would
be any part of the form that displays the grid in design view, not the
borders of the window. For example, with the Properties dialog visible,
select the Detail section. You should see the word "Detail" in the title bar
of the Properties dialog. You should be able to drag the right side to
whatever width you want, as long as some other control (line, text box,
label, etc.) is not preventing you from dragging it smaller (you'd need to
move any controls first).

Please note in the future that it is always good to include the version
information for the particular version of Access that you are using.
Depending on the issue involved, it can be quite helpful to include the
service pack information as well, for both Office and the Windows operating
system.
