Hi all

I remember in word 2000 that you could reset to the default settings by
typing winword.exe a:/ or something similar in start-RUN. However I tried to
do this in Word XP and it does not work. Does anyone know how to do this in
word XP? Any help greatly appreciated.

Just to give some background I teach basic word and someone has completely
messed up all the settings so I want to sort it out!! It might be the same as
2000 but the support people have put a block on it.

cheers Rexmann

This does _not_ reset the settings but is the equivalent of starting in safe
mode.
winword.exe /a

There is an article on the MVP FAQ about saving your settings by recording a
macro. It may be related to the article on what the data key stores.
