You didn't think it was important to mention your Outlook version or what
type of account you use, so the following assumes OL 2002/2003 and it also
assumes a POP3 account.
Click File>New>Outlook Data File. Browse to a suitable folder (or accept
the default folder), choose a suitable name (or accept the default name) and
clock OK. Answer the PST creation wizard questions. When you're done,
you'll have another Personal Folders file in your folder list. Now click
Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next. At the bottom left, use the "Deliver new
e-mail..." drop-down to select the new PST. Click Finish. Stop and restart
Outlook. You'll now have an empty Outlook Today. You can now right-click
on the old PST and choose Close. When next you close Outlook, you can
delete the old PST if you wish.
