Repostitioning Windows

Hi. Whenever I reposition a window and then close it, the next time I open
it it has reverted back to its original "default" position. Could anyone
tell me how to make a window stay in the same postion each time it is opened
without having to move it every time? Hope this makes sense! Many thanks,

Some windows insist on opening in the same place no matter where you put
them. No way to change this within XP. Maybe there are some 3rd party
tools for this.
