i am reposting my original message.
please answer my questions. i donot seem to have been infected but still i'd
like to know.
and whois this (e-mail address removed) mentioned in both the letters?

i am almost certain they are viruses.
will i be infected ?

If you don't run the attachments, you probably aren't infected. Still, keep
your antivirus signatures up to date. You probably endedup in
(e-mail address removed)'s address book somehow (possibly getting added
automatically to "contacts.")

That is a hoax intended to distribute this virus. And it seems people
are falling for it.

It picks up its destination *and* the apparent sender from the actual
sender's address book. So all you can say is it came (as the most
recent infected machine, no more) from someone who has both you and w
alderman in the address book. Which does not help, but guarantees it
did *not* come through Mr Alderman

This is the first time I have a chance to actually read one of these
messages purportedly sent from Microsoft. All the ones I received I deleted
unopened straight away. Thank you, S.L.
