Repost: Problem associated with combo box

Hi,
I got a combo box in a Access 97 form. On clicking an item on the combo box
takes one to a form showing detailed record corresponding to the item chosen.
The items are alphanumeric e.g. 00-H19-81578. I have the property of combo
box set as Limit to List and Auto Expand. However, as soon as I am typing 0
in order to complete writing the item number 00-H19-81578, the detailed form
pops up with no values to the corresponding fields. In other words, the combo
box is not allowing to complete my selection through writing in the box. The
combo box only works with an item selection via click.

I would like to know what is the workaround to achieve my goal. Thanks in
advance.

What event are you using? If you're using the Change event, then switch to
the AfterUpdate event. Change fires for each keystroke.

Thanks a lot for the help. Earlier I posted this without any reply. However,
I checked that with putting the code in the after update event, the problem I
had
is taken care of. The On Change event was trying to fire for each keystroke.
