Suvodip: I tried this but this is not working, i need to lock the picture to
the background. With the solutions that you have i can stil move the picture
around after i created the template.
**************************'

but i dont want it to cover the whole background. The picture are only 212
pix high, and i want it to cover only the top. How can i do that?

I know i can add a picture who i can move around, but i want the picture to
be locked to my background.

Dear Jesper,
Have you tried my second way ?
If not try it...
Else you can make a frame of the template ...now go to File > Save As >
JPEG... Suppose Pic1.jpeg
Open a new presentation ... Right Click .. > background... Fill Effects >
Picture... Now select the Jpeg file (Suppose Pic1.jpeg) ..

Hope this this will lock your background ....

You could add the picture to your master slide. Later version of
PowerPoint support multiple master slides, so you could create a master
specifically for this one slide if required.

To do exactly what you want you would normally need to use an image editing
application (Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, or another that allows layers. However,
you could use PowerPoint.

1. Open a new blank presentation.

2. Select the blank slide layout.

3. Give the background a color of your choice.

4. Insert your image and place it at the top.

5. Now, go to File > Save as and select PNG as your file type and save the
slide as an image. (If you want better resolution, see
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00052.htm ,)

6. Now open the presentation that you want to use your image in and do one of
the following:

a. Select your slide and go to Format > Background > Fill Effects > Picture
and use your new image.

b. To show the same background on all slides go to View > Master > Slide
Master > Format
Background > Fill Effects > Picture and use your new image.
