I have some reports that I built on my machine, but when I put it on a
different machine it doesn't look nearly the same. Our screen resolutions are
the same, but I might have a label with say "Project Status" that shows up
just fine on mine, but when I sue the other machine It only shows "Project
St". In design view it looks just fine...shows everything but when I view it
this problem occurs. Two things of note: 1. I use 2003, the other machine is
2000, 2. It seems that the problem is the report on the 2000 machine has alot
of space between letters and is not compact like it should be. Any ideas?

While the screen resolutions may be the same, there are some other things to
consider. Are the font sizes the same (large fonts or small/normal fonts set
in the system's display properties)? Has the user changed the dpi setting in
the display properties, default is 96 dpi?

Have you used a font that isn't on the other computer and so it is
substituting in what it considers to be the closest? If so, I recommend that
you stay with the fonts that come with Windows and barring that, at least
stay with those that come with Window and Office combined.

Every video card displays things slightly different, but that will normally
only cause you to lose part of or perhaps one whole letter, not a half a
word as you are indicating. However, it is always good to leave just a
little extra space when you size your labels and textboxes to allow for
this.

Thanks Wayne.

After looking closer you are right. The font choices on the computer I copied
the file to don't even have the fonts I used!
