FYI:

Installed as a part of a test here in my sandbox on a
WinXP Pro SP2 install... HW is stock Dell Dimension 2400
with 512mb RAM. Scan severely reduced system response
while "smart" scan was running, then reached critical
level when it began scanning in my profile's document
folders. I believe it might have been attempting to scan
inside some ISO files in there, that's about all that was
in the folder it was scanning when it ground to a halt.
Will continue to look at the tool, would be an exciting
development in the Windows Security suite.

Any software that scans your files or memory will reduce
system response. Spybot, Ad-Aware, MS, Anti-Virus, all
of them. The only reason they don't max out the CPU is
that they are paging furiously.
Some are a little kinder and have an option for a below-
normal priority.
