Report total to print in same spot

I use access report/subreports to fill in preprinted government forms I have
to prepare every month. (The reports so far are never more than one page).
However, I never know how many lines the report will contain. The report
requires a total at the bottom in a specific position regardless of how many
lines are in the report. (If I have 3 lines the total is in one place. If I
have 5 lines the total is in another place.) Everytime I print the report I
have to reposition the total. Any Ideas?

Hi there

One option is to put the report totals in the report footer. you have to make
the report footer big enough to include the whole section where the totals
have to be.

if you do it that way you would not have to watch the amount of lines that
will go into the body of the forms.

Hi Johansac

I do have the total in the report footer already and I'm still moving the
total around. But I will experiment some more. I must be missing something.
Thanks for your help.

I wanted to share with you how I solved my problem that may help you.
I only have a one page preprinted form and this worked for me.
I added a page footer to my report. The totals I placed in the footer
stayed in one spot no matter how many or few lines I had in my report.
Hope this helps.
