Report that can download

I am thinking of optimal solution for creating report through web interface
I have several options
1) Crystal report
2) Acrobat Reader(pdf)
3) Excel spreadsheet. (don't like it)

How hard is it doing 2)? Anyone has suggestions?

Stay away from Crystal if you can help it. From my experience it's usually
more of a pain than it's worth.
