I have written an Access application to replace a manual system. Reports have
to be viewable via the web. Formerly this was done by converting a Word file
to PDF. Now the reports come out of Access and the only method that retains
the formatting is the snapshot fromat. Unfortunately this cannot be converted
to PDF. It is also not editable, nor can it be imported to Word. Has anyone
faced these issues and come up with a good solution?

Mscertified,

In design view of the report, go to the File|Page Setup menu, and under
the 'Page' tab set the printer to the name of your PDF writer.

We are using CutePDF for our PDF writer. With CutePDF it always asks
for a name to save it under, requring manual input. Can this be
automated in some kind of VB script or something?

Our site runs a VB script within Access right now that ouputs the
report to a Snapshot file that is either viewable or downloadable from
our site. We are interested in the PDF option however.

Thanks for any advice.

Kindest Regards,

Don

Don,

Some PDF writers have a facility to set up a default file path/name for
all output. I don't know about CutePDF, but PDF995 certainly does.
Other than that, have a look at http://www.lebans.com/reporttopdf.htm.
Other than that, wait for 2007 Access to be released :-).
