Replacing Secondary Hard Drive on Windows XP System

my secondary drive has gone bad and need to replace it - is there a secret to have XP recognize and prepare a seconday drive - I will not be reloading nor replacing the primary (Boot) drive

Once you have the drive installed you will need to go to administrative
tools/computer magament and format the drive before it will show up in Explorer.
