replacing cpu

i want to replace a 2400+ with a 3200 barton...........am
i going to have to go thru the "significant hardware
change reactivation" again?
One box made me do it when i changed the cpu........and
another did when i put a graphics card in.......rediculous

When *you* say CPU, what part do you mean? If JUST the processor and not
the motherboard, likely you will not have to do a repair
installation/reactivate.

Usually, changing one part (other than the motherboard) will not make you
have to re-activate the copy of Windows XP.
 
If you're just changing the actual CPU itself then Windows won't care. I've
done this a couple times before and never got prompted to reactivate.
