I have a user that has change some thing so that new when she marks a block
of text (highlight it) and types a new word, the new word is place before the
block not in place of it. The Insert /overtype is set right so that is not
the problem.

As an example if I typed "This is a test" then highlighted "is" and typed an
"A" I should get "This A is test" but insted I get "This Ais a test"

This is on an Windows 2000 Pro PC with Office 2003 installed. It is only
happing to one login, If I login under a diferent name I dont have the
problem. I tryed removeing the "normain.dot" and that did not help.

Any one have a idea?

Hi Allen,

There's a separate option in Tools > Options > Edit for "Typing
replaces selection". Make sure it's checked.

These options are saved separately for each login.

Thank you Jay. That was what I need. Allen
