Hi All

Is this scenario correct?

I want to replace the taskmanager in Windows 2000 Pro as it infected with a
Virus/Trojan.
None of my Anti Virus or Spyware tools will get rid of it.

If I extract the taskman.exe file from the original cabinet of the factory
cd onto the hard drive can I copy over the original taskman.exe in command
prompt mode after I restart.

My aim is to reboot the pc after this to have a clean system with no virus.

Will this destroy my Windows as the infected taskman.exe has been replaced.

It looks like you will have to boot into windows recovery console and manually replace taskmgr.exe with the original.....
Recovery console
You should know DOS commands before attempting this.....
