Replacement for Photo Story3

I Use Photo Story 3 to Narrate slides that I have already made. It's
great strength is that it is easy to use and the sound file on the
individual slide controls how long the slide is displayed.

The problems: 1) It opens too small for me to see the individual
slides when I narrate. 2) The Transitions are automatic so I have to
turn them off individually. Lot's of wasted button pushing. 3) Exports
to WMV format. It is easier to convert into the format than out.

Does anyone have experience with a program that will do a better job
for me?

Another Freeware program ist SSMM (Slide Show Movie Maker) from

Slide Show Movie Maker is a free program that can create an AVI-file from a
series of .bmp or .jpg images. Images can have professional-looking fade-in
and fade-out effects, plus attractive text overlays. The program's clean-
looking interface is logically laid out; you should become productive
within just a few minutes of running it. Keep in mind that .avi files can
become quite large and take a long time to render. However, Slide Show Maker
lets you choose to save output using any one of your system's
installed .avi codecs, so the file size and generation time will vary
depending upon which one you choose.

Photo Story's big feature is that you can pick out two areas from a
picture and it will zoom from one to the other before going on to the
next picture. This seems to be missing from SSM.
 
yes, but in my cass I am trying to turn the zoom feature off.

I do wonder what type of AVI file will stay under 2 gigs. When I have
converted out of WMV I have not had an AVI under 2 gigs. However I
don't know much about these files. I do know there are many kinds of
AVI files though. Maybe one of them will do it.
