Is it possible to get a replacement Windows Media Center 2005 CD.
If I have lost or damaged my CD, how can I get a replacement CD that will
correspond to my COA.

Since Windows Media Center 2005 is OEM, you contact the vendor that
manufactured it for replacements.

Hi Bob.

I have been trying to do what you have suggested for nearly 3 months now.
The vendor does not supply disc's. They said I must send my laptop in for
repairs.
Each time I send my laptop in for repairs the vendor keeps installing
different operating systems in Spanish.

My OEM sticker is on the laptop. The laptop is sent to the vendor with all
the documentation.

The first time they installed Windows XP Home Spanish edition.
The second time they installed Windows Media Center 2002 Spanish edition.

My OEM is for Windows Media Center 2005 English edition.

So I am looking for a solution. Hoping Microsoft will assist.

Thanks for your response.

This isn't Microsoft but simply a user to user peer group. Your issue is
with the vendor, and Microsoft would send you to them to correct the
issue. If the vendors technicians won't fix it, you may want to contact
the management.

You may or may not be able to get a CD.

You need to tell us the make and model of the PC. All PC manufacturers
must provide a means to restore a pristine version of your operating
system. Some provide an installation disk for you to perform a clean
install. This is the best situation because this would also enable you
to perform a repair install. This method also works well in the event
you need to install a new hard drive. Some provide something called a
recovery CD, which rolls back your PC to the same condition it was on
the day you bought it. And some provide a hidden recovery partition on
your hard drive that also rolls back your PC to the same condition it
was on the day you bought it. This last method is the worst since if
your hard drive is shot, your method to restore your PC to its original
state is also shot.

Some people have had success building their own installation CDs using
their I396 folders:

So, what kind of PC do *you* have?
