Replace the WIA user interface window?

The Microsoft WIA (Windows Imaging Acquisition) UI window
that pops up when you want to scan something, really stinks!

I'd like to replace it with something more automated. If I
don't click OK within 5 seconds, it should automatically
proceed with the same settings used in the last previous scan.

I have found code on Google on how to do a scan from your
own application code... But in my case the application is
PaperPort 9.0, so I need something that will hook into the
WIA mechanism in Windows itself.

Any ideas?!

Thanks

I am in the same boat myself. Apparently Pixel Translations produce drivers
that would let you do so, but at a price of $100 plus, it's a real rip-off
for HP customers to have to pay this for just a driver that should have been
included with the hardware in the first place!
