After performing a Find function in a document, clicking on the Next Page and Previous Page buttons on the vertical scroll bar repeats the Find function. Closing the document or closing Word does not turn it off. Rebooting is the only procedure to turn it off. This happens in each version of Word for Windows. Why is rebooting the only solution?

Closing Word and re-opening Word is supposed to clear it out. You can also
click the little button in between the up and down arrows and select the top
right option (Browse by page). You might have a problem with your
"normal.dot" global template file if this feature does not get changed back
when closing and re-opening Word. However, the easiest way is to change it
back by doing the actions described above.

Rebooting is *not* the only way to turn it off. Click on the button between
the arrows and choose the desired browse object (such as Browse by Page).
