1) Receiving "not enough virtual memory for setup", and a
problem with "API" when trying to repair an unbootable XP
HE machine. I'm not able to F8 into ANY diagnostics
without the above error(s) occuring IMMEDIATELY
AFTERWARDS. It's a continuous loop back to reboot. Will
setting the BIOS to START CD DRIVE alleviate this problem?

2) I've read at least the following 15 pages of this
newsgroup, so I know I'm not being redundant... Some
people say you can upgrade your XP HE to the OEM ver of XP
PRO, and some people say you can't.

Someone know the real story on this??? I just want to fix
this damn thing asap!!

Thanks a million.

One can upgrade any version of Windows XP Home Edition
by using a "retail upgrade version" or "retail full version"
of Windows XP Professional. One cannot use an "OEM version"
of Windows XP Pro to upgrade over XP Home. OEM versions
lack the upgrade capability and must be installed "clean" on a
freshly reformatted drive or partition.
