I know what to doto repair my XP OS and I have done it multiple times,
after it copys files it asks me to restart, I do then it asks me if i
want to boot from cd but i wait to allow it to continue the re-install.
But then it goes to the install page and says Restarting Installation
over and over.... what do I do?

Hi,

Are you doing a repair installation or a clean installation? If the latter,
I would delete and recreate the destination installation partition - the
existing may be damaged. If the former, I would load the Recovery Console
first by pressing 'r' when prompted and run chkdsk c: /r from the prompt.

Ok I iwll try to run a chekdisk now, the reason I had to repair windows
was the boot was looping it would load windows and then just restart
over and over.

I ran chkdsk /p no error showed up, it just went back to the C:\
windows prompt again after it ran it. what should I try now?

A repair install

Please see the answers you got to your first post. If you can't find it,
use Google Groups Advanced Search and look for your name. Keep posts

May be a stupid question but did you remove the installation CD and then reboot to start the system?

I forgot to add to my last post that the first disk check I did (/p) it
found errors and then I did Fix (/r) and It took a long time, I was
unable to determin if it fixed anything becuase when it finished it did
not say anything about errors. Then I quit the repair console and
restarted my pc. Still my computer boots, then restarts and loops over
and over....

Thank you Kind people for all your help. But I require my computer for
use and I can not afford the slow people at the computer store to spend
4 hours fixing it. So I broke and did a full install, now to put HL2
and all of its 5 disks back on. Thanks for your help!
