Repair troubles

Hi, i recently had to perform a repair on my version of Windiws Xp Home. I
went through these steps http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545 but when i
got to Part 2 step 7, i couldnt not access that folder. Even with the link
saying how to do it it wouldn't allow me to access it. When i hover the mouse
over it it says the folder is empty. Does this mean anything? Please help me!!

Did you try accessing that folder in safe mode? snipped form that link, "
1.Open My Computer, right-click the System Volume Information folder, and
then click Properties.2.Click the Security tab.3.Click Add, and then type
the name of the user to whom you want to give access to the folder.
Typically, this is the account with which you are logged on.4.Click OK, and
then click OK again.5.Double-click the System Volume Information folder to
open it."

Do the above from Safe Mode.
