Does a repair install require product activation like a clean install
does?

No. With a repair install, you are just repairing the os. As a side note,
depending on what type of os you have, reactivating is not done with a clean
install, either.. I have an oem, reactivated, and have done at least 3 clean
installs that I can recall, and I never had to reactivate the product.

Every repair install I've ever done (lots, probably over 400 total) I've had
to activate via microsoft... And a lot of the time, I had to do it over the
phone...

It's really not that hard, I used to just ask for "rajeeth" to activate all
my stuff, he was a no nonsense kinda guy, and when I was calling in to
activate 5-6 computers at a time... He always hooked us up..

I don't think he works there anymore though

I have an English version of XP but live in Spain. I wonder who I will
have to call to activate, someone in Bolivia?

I don't buy computers with the OS already installed.
