Repair Install stuck

I am performing a repairinstall of XP pro as there was a problem that was not being mended by sfc. The repair install keeps getting stuck on Installing Drivers with 35 mins. It stays at 35mins. However the information about Windows XP on the right is still changing. It dosen't appear to be getting stuff of the hard drive or CD-ROM. I have rebooted but the same thing happens. What should I do?
