REpair install query

Hi.

I still cannot boot up my computer running XP Home. It
won't get as far as booting into safe mode. Have tried
various options through the Recovery Console, but nothing
is working - requires someone with a lot more know how
than me, ocviously! Anyway, I think I will need to go for
a repair install, but on booting up with the XP Home CD, I
don't get the same options as for those described on web
page:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_repair_install.htm.

When booting with the XP CD, on choosing the "Set up
Windows XP" option rather then the RC, all is fine until I
get past the point of agreeing to the user license. I get
a screen asking whether I wish to keep the present
partition/s or to reset them. If I choose the first
option, I then get a screen up asking whether I wish to
perform a quick format, a full format or to install
keeping my present file system. The last option sounds
like the repair install but nowhere is this term mentioned
and there is no option to press R for this. Is this what
is meant by the repair install? Is this a variation
because it is a UK version rather than a US version, or
what?

I will not be doing anything until I get this checked out,
so if someone could help me out here, I would appreciate
it.

TIA,

CC.
