Where do I get a windows xp cd with both service packs on it Im having sound
problems and I think its has to be in windows since Ive done everything else
to try to remedy it and none of my discs will work anymore

Any xp cd with SP2 has SP1 installed, try retail outlets...However thats not
the problem, open device mgr, expand the sound tree,R.click on youre
sound hardware, select uninstall,do for all sound hardware, dont restart
computer,close out device mgr,shutdown computer.If you have a PCI
add in sound card, move the card to other PCI slot,if not simply restart
computer,xp will reinstall on restart.

It would help if you described what you have tried rather than saying you
have tried everything, because obviously if you have tried everything and
the problem is impossible to correct; why are you asking for another fix for
the problem?

A Windows XP CD with SP2 will have all updates issued up to the date SP2 was
released and this would include SP1.
If you have a XP CD without either SP 1 or 2, you can create a XP CD with
the Service Packs included by using a process called slipstreaming using a
network drive or burning a copy of the XP CD.
Link to resources for slipstreaming Service Packs into your XP CD.
Setup cannot continue because.....newer...version.
#29 on the FAQ list.

If your problem is with your sound card, it is highly unlikely doing a
repair install of XP with or without Service Packs would help.
You need to post back with the particulars of your system and what you have
tried.

Since Installation CDs have trouble repairing an installation that
includes downloaded service packs, you might be thinking of
"Slipstreamed" CDs like those produced with Autostreamer or nLite. A
description of why you might like to do that and instructions for a
manual slipstreaming process is at
http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_sp2_slipstream.asp

The process might not be available if you computer came with recovery
OEM media that returns you computer to the state it was in at the time
of delivery (erasing all signs of data and applications installed since
then).

Why I say I need to repair windows is the FACT that I cannot play windows
sounds from the control panel No sounds on start up no shut down sounds
nothing cannot get sound on certain websites >>>sounds on others now you tell
me what is up Ive changed sound cards called companies changed bios what
else is there to do but repair windows
