renaming workgroup and computers

I set up a new naming scheme on a small 2000 network
and the old scheme still shows up in my network places.
How do I get rid of the old naming scheme?

In workgroups? If you see the old workgroup in the network browse still this
means something somewhere still has that name. Have you checked print
servers and suchlike on the network?

This information is held in the browse list of the master browser; once you
have renamed all your machines there will be a time delay before the old
workgroup name disappears from the browse list.
