Renaming Drives Letters

I'm running WinXPHome, SP1. I've got the following drive setup:

C: 60GB hard drive, master
D: DVD Burner
E: DVD Player

I'm adding a Western Digital Caviar Special Edition 80 GB, for storage
only, as a slave.

I'd like to have it as drive D:, and have the optical drives get pushed
down one letter each, to E: and F:

Should I rename the existing drives as I want them, C:, E:, and F:,
leaving D: vacant, and then install the WD drive? If so, will XP notice
that there is no D:, and default to this as the next letter designation?

Or, is there another way to go about this?

Thanks,
Bruce

That is the easiest way.

Can you access "my computer » management" by right clicking on it or do you need to get into the administrator account?

Once there (manage) click "disk management » right click E » change to F » right click D » change to E" or move the letters up further, I use M & N.
