Renaming Contacts in your list

If there's one thing I can't stand, it's having a contact
list full of people who seem to feel it's "fun" to use an
entire sentence as their screen name. Half the time I
don't even know who the heck I'm talking to...

I can't find an option to rename my contacts in Messenger
6 -- Anyone out there have any ideas? Why would
Microsoft not make it possible to customize your own
contact list!? I have a few friends who insist on
changing their screen name more often then their
underwear and I'm starting to lose my mind over this...

HelP!

Thanks, Andy!

I'll give that a shot (...didn't even know about it!..) I
used Trillian Pro, but Microsoft's kinda' put a stop to
that programs functionality for the time being.
Appreciate the quick answer!

Hi Jonathan

Trillian Pro is not working, but the other versions are.
I have tried in several PC's and nothing.

Correct...

October 15th was Microsoft's 'cut off' date for allowing
other clients, such as Trillian PRO v1 in my case, to
connect to their networks... Thus, I've been 'forced' to
use Messenger again to remain online so people can send
important messages to me while I'm at work; ground-
breaking alerts like; "You there?", "You busy?" and the
ever popular "Sup!?"

My understanding is Trillian PRO v2 works, but I'm not
sure... If someone can confirm that, it would be
appreciated; I trust the latest version of the free
client's been fixed too?

Hi Andy,

It should be working -- make sure you're using the
latest version (the older clients were made unavailable
to logon to the .NET Messenger network of as of October
15th).

The latest free Trillian works ( and the current Pro 2 version as well
according to Trillian's website but I don't know from direct experience).

Yes, Trillian PRO V2 works I installed yesterday and not problem to report
it's even faster to connect that the V1.
