Is it possible to rename attachments in the outlook window? I have users
that attach documents to emails all day long and need them to be renamed so
that they are easily identified by their clients (most of the attachments are
being forwarded by an email they received so they want to rename them without
having to save outside of email)

thank you

no, they need to save and rename.

Hi Diane,

Is there any reason why this option is no longer available ? is this some
sort of security policy ?

Thanks!

Outlook has never been able to rename a document while it's on an email -
you can rename it while the File Browser is open though, then attach. The
only way your users did it before within Outlook was either within the file
browser or by using Outlook's file browsing capabilities (which was removed
because few people used it - Outlook is returning to it's roots as a PIM,
not a windows shell.)

After clicking on Insert > File to open the Insert File dialog, you can
either right click on the file and choose Rename or press F2. Change the
name and attach.
