Rename network printers

I have a user on a client computer with Quickbooks installed. She cannot
print to a network printer because the word "on" is in the name. Quickbooks
support suggests renaming this computer; however, the option to rename is
unavailable when you right click.

Does anyone know how to rename a network printer or perhaps has an
alternative solution?

Is she trying to rename the network printer from the computer to which
the printer is connected? Or is this a printer connected directly to
the network? What printer? Normally you would change the Share name,
not the printer name from the printers folder.

The computer is installed on another client and shared through the network.
We've had an issue with our regular computer and needed to use the alternate.
I didn't want to change the share name; I just wanted to get rid of the "on
desktop15" part of the name.

All that being said, it is moot because I've been made aware of a different
way to troubleshoot the printer/Quickbooks issue.
