I bought a used laptop with XP. It only has a 233
processor and shouldn't have had XP put on it. How do I
remove XP and put 98 on it? I have made boot disks for 98
and fdisked the hard drive but you can't do that with XP
evidently. How one gets nto BIOs is a mystery.
Please help.

When using FDISK, select the option to remove NON DOS partitions first..
this will remove NTFS partitions from the drive,, then remove any DOS
partitions.. create new DOS partitions.. finally, use the FORMAT function..
reboot the laptop with the Win 98 start-up diskette, then place the Win 98
cd in the drive.. the diskette will have told you which drive letter has
been assigned to the CD drive.. type in the path for the Win CD.. eg.
E:\setup.. this will start the Win 98 installation process..

Good luck
