removing windows

i am having trouble logging on to the internet and i was
advised to remove windows xp from my hard disc and then
reinstall it. i tried to type format c: in command prompt
but that didn't work so what should i do?

Reinstalling Windows seems a drastic step to take if you
cannot access the Internet !!

Please post details of your problem and someone is bound
to help ou ;-)

Who told you to reformat and reinstall Windows? Did they
also tell you to do it from the command prompt or did you
come up with that ide by yourself? You never have and
never will be able to do that. As was suggested, post
some symptoms and we will be happy to help and should be
able to get you back on the net without a reinstall of the
OS. By the way, if you reinstall the OS, you have to
reinstall ALL of your other programs too.
